Supervising and testing water in swimming pools and public bathing areas

Many years ago we were asked to develop a seminar for local testing laboratories and for public and privately run swimming pools, in therapy centers or for public audiences. What we organized for people who sample and test water quality in pools has become one of our most popular seminars. We offer this course twice a year in Rostock and it is always well-attended.

Our teaching team includes an evaluator for swimming pool technology, an experienced microbiologist, and an experienced chemist, all of whom show the participants procedures that adhere to the norms of tracking and setting water quality and about the hygiene parameters when taking samples of swimming water in both theory and practice.

We have a close working relationship with the public pool complex Neptunschwimmhalle in the city of Rostock, which has helped promote this seminar. The Neptunschwimmhalle has a long tradition in the city, it hosts international sporting events, and has been renovated according to modern standards. Ms. Raabe is the director of this public pool complex, and she is proud to give our participants a tour of the facilities.

The practical part of the seminar takes place at one of the pools, where participants can try their hand at scoop sampling. They also have the chance to examine the chlorine system. The samples we take can be analyses using the in-site parameter. We also have the head manager off the company WTW / Xylem, who tells us about the new measurement technology and how it must be maintained and calibrated. Participants were able to bring up their own issues and concerns and discuss them. Using on-site analysis is an ongoing difficult topic, so most participants are thankful for help in this matter.

We also have seminars addressing pool disinfection and how to work with chlorination systems, both of which are important aspects of managing pools in a safe manner. These seminars round off our offer for people responsible for such facilities.

Our clients include:

Managers of swimming pools, especially the technicians involved with preparing and monitoring the water in pools used for sports, relaxation, or medical therapies, including checking and adjusting chlorine levels, companies which install chlorine technology, agencies responsible for worker protection and technical safety, public health authorities, and testing laboratories
