2018
The NORDUM Akademie continues its collaboration with the University of Rostock, management of waste and material flow, pro viding continuing education in Arab countries. This project is part of the university’s program in Algeria to develop courses of Master’s studies in sustainable waste and management of raw materials as resources with the universities of Blida and Constantine.
2017
The NORDUM Akademie starts a partnership with the Fraunhofer UMSICHT on the project “Survey and Establishment of a Comprehensive Database for Waste Management in Kuwait” (eMISKWaste, see: www.emisk.org). The goal is to draft a plan for waste management for the Environmental Public Authority (EPA) in Kuwait by 2021. The NORDUM Akademie is working with the Fraunhofer UMSICHT and the EPA to spearhead a workshop on waste sampling to be held in Kuwait in September 2017.
2015
NORDUM celebrates the 25th year since its founding with events held in Rostock.
2013
The NORDUM Akademie expands its range of seminar topics, including testing samples for officially designated environmental areas. We now offer our training sessions throughout Germany, including such cites as Hamburg, Berlin, Dortmund, and Frankfurt / Main. We are also supported by other experts, such as the specialists of the DAkkS.
A cooperation between the NORDUM Akademie and the University of Maputo in Mozambique is started, working on environmental and food analysis.
Two colleagues from Maputo came to visit the
NORDUM Akademie in September 2012. Their stay included site visits to various laboratories focusing on different aspects: analysis technology, building and managing a laboratory, and quality management.
2010
Amongst other things, a main task of the year was a project with the aim to launch an e-learning platform in the field of waste management in Viet Nam.
Beside the environmental education in inland and foreign countries, efforts were made to start projects in the field of renewable energy in Eastern Europe.
2009
Within the scope of the restructuring, the NORDUM Institut für Umwelt und Analytik was renamed to NORDUM Akademie. The office has relocated to Rostock. Furthermore NORDUM started to manage 5 wind turbines in the megawatt range.
NORDUM joined the “enviMV – Umwelttechnologiennetzwerk Mecklenburg-Vorpommern” network.
2008
At the end of the year a realignment in the company took place. The areas of further education, renewable energy and consulting became more and more the main focus of NORDUM.
In this context the former laboratory division was sold to the company Kiwa Control. Kiwa is an international enterprise with the emphasis on: certification and material testing. NORDUM and Kiwa agreed on a long term co-operation in several areas.
2005
In this year, the accreditation according to the international standard DIN ISO/IEC 17025 was getting renewed. Within the framework of the reaccreditation a wide-ranging expansion of the accredited procedures took place, for example the determination of emission and immission values.
NORDUM obtained the patent for a biological indicator to detect pollutants in water.
2004
In Sao Paulo, Brazil, NORDUM established the company NORDUM do Brasil - Instituto brasileiro – alemao de Educacao e Meio Ambiente Ltd. (NORDUM of Brazil – Brazilian Institute – German Education and Environmental Protection). The company has its main focus on further education and consulting in the field of environmental protection.
2000
In October 2000, NORDUM celebrated their 10th anniversary together with friends of the company and guests of economics and politics. On this occasion, the results of the newly developed sewage test were published and could be presented to a wide audience.
In the year 2000, NORDUM gained for the first time the accreditation according to the international standard DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.
1998
Within the framework of research projects, NORDUM started with the development of a biological test, which enabled the effect-related analysis of pollutants in sewage. This development was simultaneously accompanied by an expansion of the business areas to other fields of biological research.
1995
In 1995 the NORDUM Akademie GbR (NORDUM Acadamy BGB company) had its spin-off from the company with the emphasis on the field of further education. The professional competence in the field of environmental technologies is mainly based on the experience of the employees of the NORDUM Institute.
1994
In year 1994, NORDUM reached another highlight of their development. A brand-new company building was built in the industrial park Kessin. Finally the newly acquired conditions of work were corresponding to the already existing knowledge and technical know-how of the company.
1992
In February 1992, the NORDUM Institut für Umwelt und Analytik GmbH & Co. KG established another branch office in Neubrandenburg located in the technology, innovation and foundation center Neubrandenburg.
1990
The NORDUM Institut für Umwelt und Analytik GmbH & Co. KG (NORDUM Institute for Environment and Analysis L.L.C.) was founded in 1990 as a private independent company for environmental consulting and pollutant analysis in the technology park Warnemünde.
